That is because the degree of loneliness is not and cannot be measured by the population of people around you. You can have a big group of friends or many people you care about in your life, but that number is meaningless if you can’t appreciate their presence. To put it bluntly, it appears that you don’t hold these “people” you care for to a high degree of gratitude. If you have a lot of people in your life, yet you feel lonely then that means that those people (i’m sorry to say) don’t have substantial value to you. To put it another way, and to clarify, feeling lonely while having a boyfriend is equivalent to cheating on your boyfriend; a person who feels lonely with a lot of friends in their life obviously does not value their friends presence. These many people who you apparently care for are like walking headings in your life…they are just there…and that’s why you’re lonely. Wake up and realize that you are in fact not alone. Appreciate those around you.
